Clinical Shadowing & Patient Privacy
Clinical shadowing involves observing physicians in healthcare settings where patient privacy is paramount. MedConnect is committed to facilitating opportunities that comply with all relevant privacy regulations.
Important Notice
PreMed Bridge only facilitates connections between students and physicians. The platform does not grant direct access to patient information or clinical settings. All access is controlled by the hosting institution.
For Students
- You may be required to complete privacy and confidentiality training before participating in clinical shadowing
- Some institutions require background checks and immunization records
- You must sign confidentiality agreements as required by the hosting institution
- Patient privacy must be maintained at all times during any clinical experience
- Links to required training and hospital forms will be provided after being matched with a physician
For Physicians
- Confirm that any shadowing opportunity complies with your institution's privacy policies
- Ensure students complete all required training before clinical observation
- Obtain necessary patient consent when required by your institution
- Report any privacy concerns to PreMed Bridge and your institution immediately

We collect information you provide directly, including name, email, educational background, and professional credentials. For students, this includes your personal statement and resume. For physicians and other opportunity providers, this includes your medical licence or professional registration number and institutional email.
How We Use Your Information

Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
